40: Suzi Grady of Petaluma Bounty on addressing the root causes of hunger while addressing immediate needs

Suzi Grady is the Director of Petaluma Bounty, an innovative food access program in Sonoma County, California.  Recognizing that most small-scale farmers can’t afford to feed low-income people, and that most low-income consumers can’t afford to buy locally grown produce, Petaluma Bounty works on designing community solutions to hunger.  They connect people to many food assistance programs and run a sliding-scale CSA, a community farm, education programs, and a gleaning program that has distributed over a half a million pounds of food.  In this episode, Suzi talks with Devon about addressing the root causes of hunger while meeting immediate needs.
